What is IELTS?

  • The ‘International English Language Testing System’ or ‘IELTS’ is a popular exam and diploma of English as a foreign language, certified by the University of Cambridge. Results are recognised world-wide as a proof of your level of English.

  • FCE – CAE – CPE are other tests, ranging from intermediate and advanced levels, up to the C2 Certificate of Proficiency in English. They are also certified by the Cambridge University.
    TOEFL is the American equivalent of IELTS.

  • Reading, listening, speaking and writing skills will be assessed during your test in Brussels to determine and certify your general level of English. You cannot fail the test but obtain a score that reflects your IELTS results.

Why take the IELTS test?

  • Boost your career: for jobs abroad or in an international company or organisation in Belgium, an IELTS certificate is often compulsory. And even if it is not, such a diploma surely enhances your CV and career opportunities.

  • Study abroad: if you want to study in England, Ireland, the USA or in another European country (Erasmus and other programmes), you will have to prove your English skills with good IELTS results or a C2 Proficiency certificate.
