The English Academy has implemented special measures for face-to-face lessons at our school. We also have more and more online language lessons.

Now that the governmental measures to slow down the Covid-19 pandemic have been relaxed, we can start teaching again.

The English Academy guarantees that everything is happening in the safest conditions possible.

All group lessons are taught via distance learning (Zoom, or equivalent) until August 2021.
The group lessons that start in September 2021, will take place at the school.

Mesures for all our language classes.

  • Social distancing: a distance of 1,5 m between all participants – even during the coffee break – is guaranteed. We also avoid all physical contacts (such as handshakes).

  • Hand sanitiser: we put some at your disposal so that you can sanitise your hands when you arrive and whenever you prefer to do so. You can obviously use your own gel too.

  • Facial masks: they are compulsory when entering or leaving the school building or getting up for any reason. Only when seated, you can take them off if you prefer.

  • Any sign of fever? Then do not come to school. And if you do, we reserve the right to check your temperature and send you home at the slightest sign of fever or if you have a cough.

  • Possible infection: if a student or the teacher is infected or is waiting for test results, the classes will be given over Zoom for one or two weeks, as safety measures require.

  • Lockdown: if the government imposes a lockdown on our school, all lessons will continue over Zoom. Students should be equipped for that (PC or laptop and speakers or headset).

Specific measures by course type.

  • Group classes at school: the layout of the rooms has been adapted to observe a safety distance of 1,5 m between the students and the teacher. To make this possible, we have reduced the maximum number of participants from 8 to 6. This will make our lessons even more interactive!

  • Private lessons: In our premises, you take place at the other end of a large table to leave enough space between you and your teacher. If the lessons happen elsewhere, it must be in a room large enough to observe a distance of minimum 1,5 m and to ensure good ventilation (without AC).

  • Individual lessons by Skype or Zoom: All students registered for private lessons can be taught in person or online. The quality and price of both options are the same. A combination of both is also possible. (Intensive courses or 4 to 7h/day are not feasible via distance learning.)

  • Group classes via Zoom: the English Academy organises online classes, in groups of max. 6 people per level, taught by qualified native English speakers. English speaking practice for adults on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 PM, and weekly lessons for teens on Wednesday afternoons at 2 PM.
